It’s very easy for you to get an idea of what shoe type would suit your foot shape by doing the wet foot print test. You will need a bowl of water, a darkish piece of paper (I find a large brown envelope works well) and you. Place one foot in to the bowl, shaking off any excess water as you lift it out. Press your foot onto the paper (try doing this as if you were walking on to it).
Your foot will leave a print which you can then match to our guide below.
If your foot shape matches the print below it would suggest you have moderate pronation. Moderate pronation simply means your arch will collapse through the gait cycle and the foot will roll inwards.

Moderate to Severe Pronation
If your foot shape matches the print below it would suggest you have severe pronation and a flat arch. Severe pronation simply means your arch will collapse considerably through the gait cycle and the foot will roll inwards. You would be best suited to a ‘Moderate to Severe Pronation’ shoe which will support and help control the foot through the gait cycle.
These type of shoes normally have built in support on the inside of the shoe and tend to have wide soles for additional stability particularly suited to heavier runners who need more support and cushioning.
